Bassline Symphony in The Guardian: Bradford 2025 Highlights
I’m incredibly proud to share that Bassline Symphony has been featured in The Guardian as one of the five standout events to look forward to during Bradford 2025! Written by Bradford’s own Lanre Bakare, the article celebrates this world-first fusion of bassline music and orchestral performance.
Taking place on May 9th, 2025, at St. George’s Hall, Bassline Symphony will showcase the talents of Jamie Duggan, DJ Q, TS7, and the Orchestra of Opera North, under the brilliant arrangement of Katie Chatburn. This event will honor Bradford’s bassline legacy while introducing new audiences to the genre.
But Bassline Symphony is just one highlight of an extraordinary year for Bradford. Here are the five major events The Guardian has spotlighted:
Bradford 2025 Opening Ceremony: Dynamo leads a spectacular event designed to rival the Olympics, setting the tone for the year.
Big Brass Blowout: Kokoroko collaborates with other incredible artists for a legendary brass music weekender.
La Haine Live Score: The Asian Dub Foundation performs a live score for Mathieu Kassovitz’s cult classic film.
Richard Hawley and Black Dyke Band: A unique collaboration celebrating Bradford’s brass music heritage.
Bassline Symphony: A fusion of bassline’s raw energy with classical music’s sophistication, featuring Bradford legends and global talent.
